Before the warmer weather city council regulates buskers

25 Mar

It is common to hear people playing instruments or singing in the streets of Galway when a ray of sunshine appears and that is a part of the city life and culture.
Some residents complained about buskers and the high noise made by their performances.
That’s why the City Council of Galway suggested establishing a code of conduct to be followed by the buskers. Actually, the complaint was more about equipment as amplifiers. With that code of conduct this material would be forbidden and if someone will ask a busker to lower the volume, the artist will have to. Moreover, a performance won’t exceed 2 hours.

After a trial period of one year the City Council will decide if a by-law will be set up and that is what the businesses owners in Galway are asking for.
